Donate Now: Healthy Columbia Crisis Meals Initiative

What do you do in the midst of pandemic? As a community organization you do what you can to serve your community in any way you can. While our communities implement extreme (but necessary) measures to limit COVID-19 spread and infection, unplanned hardships and challenges for individuals and families – especially the most vulnerable – are created. One real and immediate hardship is increased food insecurity resulting in part from school closures and the limitations placed on traditional community services. No one should be hungry and through our Healthy Columbia program we have mobilized the Healthy Columbia Crisis Meals initiative – a partnership with Gypsy Kitchen and Fuel Madness Meals that began March 17th – to do what we can to ensure Columbia residents in need have access to at least one freshly prepared, healthy meal each day.

Meals are available to anyone in the 17512 ZIP Code in need of a meal and are distributed once per week providing participants with 5 freshly prepared, healthy meals for them and each member of their household. CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health is dedicated to distributing at least 750 meals per week throughout the COVID-19 Pandemic but with the end of the crisis period unknown the need for meal assistance may extend past our resources. Your support will allow us to continue providing healthy, freshly made meals for individuals, children and families until schools are re-opened and community resources are restored. Your gift will make a difference, all donations big and small will impact the lives of those served.
