Ruth joined the team of CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health in March 2020. She spent the first eight years of her career working in education, both as a classroom teacher and manager of an afterschool program. She then obtained her Masters in Social Work from the University of Denver in Colorado, and a post-graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy at the Denver Family Institute. She has been working in the mental health field for five years, and especially enjoys working with children, adolescents, and their families. Ruth takes a systems approach in her therapy and believes in helping all members of the family reach their mental health goals. She has particular experience working with adolescents involved in the juvenile justice system and working with families impacted by trauma.
Ruth moved to Lancaster in 2017. In her free time she loves spending quality time with her husband and two young children, reading, and discovering delicious places to eat in Lancaster City.
